I’ve chosen not to share a phone number on my website to avoid spam calls, however please don’t hesitate to ask for my number via email if you would prefer to discuss your project over the phone.

Privacy

Artois Translations is located in the European Union and hence follows the GDPR. In this section, I will describe the data I collect through my website.

What data do I collect and how?

I make a strong effort to collect as little data as possible through my website. Artois Translations collects personal data in the following instances:

  • You decide to contact me via email. My contact page invites you to send me an email. If you choose to do so, I will collect your email address, your name and any other personal data you share in that email (such as your phone number, names of other people, an address etc.).
  • Cookies. My website uses cookies that might collect personal data. Please see below for more information on these cookies.

You should also be aware that, while I do not process your personal data, third parties might, specifically in the following case:

  • You leave a review on my Google My Business or my LinkedIn page. My contact page invites you to leave a review on my Google and/or LinkedIn page. If you choose to do so, you will share your name, email address, and possibly other information (such as your location) with Google LLC and/or Microsoft. How will I use your data?

Artois Translations collects your data so that I can:

  • Process your request and answer your email.
  • Offer you a functioning website that takes into account your personal preferences.

If I need to process your data for other purposes, for instance because a request leads to a collaboration, I will ask for your permission. I will also ask for your permission if I deem it useful to share your personal data with third parties (I might, for instance, share your email address with another translator).

How long do I store your data?

If a request does not lead to a collaboration, I will remove your email (and with it, your personal data) after three years. If a request does lead to a collaboration, I will store any accounting information (name, address, email address) for ten years and all other information for no longer than three years after the termination of our collaboration agreement, or – if there is no agreement – the last invoice or quote.

What are your data protection rights?

Artois Translations would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request Artois Translations for copies of your personal data.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Artois Translations corrects any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Artois Translations to complete any information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Artois Translations erases your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Artois Translations restricts the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Artois Translations’ processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Artois Translations transfers the data that it has collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
